Story
Hi there!
Some of you may know Alfie was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2021 and this has been a scary experience for all of us. We are fortunate in that his diagnosis is one of a childhood epilepsy and he has a great chance of not experiencing this as an adult and living a normal life. Despite this, he still faces hurdles and we are super grateful to be supported by a fantastic healthcare system and organisations such as Epilepsy WA.
I'm making a difference by fundraising for this cause that's close to our hearts. I am taking part in Epilepsy WA's annual fundraiser, the Purple Walk for Epilepsy WA on Sunday 26th March 2023 at Curtin University.
This year it is a particularly special event as Epilepsy WA are celebrating their Diamond Jubilee in 2023 – that’s 60 years providing vital support services to the WA community and striving to bring epilepsy out of the shadows. They rely heavily on the support of the community to continue running their amazing services for the 1 in 25 Western Australians that will be diagnosed with epilepsy –that’s more than 27,000 individuals currently diagnosed, plus their employers, families and carers.
Please support my efforts by making a secure online donation and by posting a message of support. Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.
Thank you so much for your support and enabling Epilepsy WA to continue doing their amazing work!
Epilepsy WA
Since 1963, Epilepsy WA has been tirelessly raising awareness and providing vital information and support to West Australians living with epilepsy, their families, and carers.
There are over 28,000 West Australians currently living with epilepsy. Epilepsy is one of the most common, yet often misunderstood, neurological conditions, affecting up to 1 in 25 people whilst 1 in 10 of us will have a seizure in their lifetime. Epilepsy WA can help those living with epilepsy by providing a range of helpful services. We have provided these vital support services for over 60 years and constantly strive to bring epilepsy out of the shadows and reduce stigma. With your help, we will continue to do so for another 60 years and more! We rely heavily on the support of the community to help us continue offering our wide range of services which are consistently being extended and improved. Visit www.epilepsywa.asn.au to learn more about our services and supports.
We are your WA based epilepsy association, exclusively servicing WA. We are in WA, for WA. Please make a tax-deductible donation today and help us support the 28,000 West Australians living with epilepsy. Every cent donated in WA, stays in WA.
